10th Golden Mask awards
2014 marks the 10th Golden Mask award in Moscow, Russia where Teodor’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro has been nominated for Best Opera Production. Teodor has also been nominated for Best Opera Conductor. To mark the occasion, Teodor will take his orchestra and choir MusicAeterna to the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow for a revival production of Figaro on 23rd March.
Teodor Currentzis and MusicAeterna launched a series of European concerts this week performing a concert version of Purcell’s much loved Dido & Aeneas and Handel’s Dixit Dominus. In Berlin the concert was received by a rapturous audience and critical reception – the critics wrote:
“It has been a long time since an evening has been so affecting. One must be careful with such superlatives, but what’s coming out of Russia can only effectively be described as a sensation. “Kulturradio – 5 star concert review.
