Teodor Currentzis and musicAeterna go to Perm with the Diaghilev+
From November 18 to November 20, Teodor Currentzis and the Perm Opera will present the Diaghilev+, a project of the Diaghilev festival adapted to the current pandemic situation. All the extensive program of the three-day marathon will be performed by musicians of the musicAeterna orchestra and choir conducted by Fedor Lednev and Teodor Currentzis.
Diaghilev+ opens with the Russian premiere of Alexey Retinsky’s Krauseminze, a fifteen-minute work for voice and symphony orchestra, inspired by the poetic world of Paul Celan. In the second part of the concert, the musicAeterna orchestra conducted by Teodor Currentzis performs the Fourth Symphony by Johannes Brahms, the composer’s last work in this genre. The program will be performed twice: on November 18 on the stage of the Perm Opera at 18:00 and 21:00. The next two days will be dedicated to chamber music.
The next two days, the guests of the Diaghilev+ will enjoy a mystery in the Shop No. 5 of Shpagin Plant. Selected chamber music, from medieval artifacts to the latest pieces, will be performed by musicAeterna.
