Currentzis debuts in Aix-en-Provence
A rousing performance of Mahler’s 5th symphony with MusicAeterna saw the climax of the 2015 Diaghilev Festival in Perm, and Teodor Currentzis now turns his attention to the Festival International d’Art Lyrique d’AIx-en-Provence where, on 5th July, he will give the first of five double-bill performances of Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and Stravinsky’s Persephone with the Opéra National de Lyon. A co-production with the Teatro Real, Madrid, Teodor collaborates once again with acclaimed director Peter Sellars. And on 16th July, Teodor will conduct a concert with the MusicAeterna choir, also as part of the festival, in repertoire including works like Tchaikovsky, Purcell and Stravinsky.
