Triumph for Teodor Currentzis

Teodor Currentzis and MusicAeterna have opened the Musikfest Bremen in spectacular style, with outstanding reviews greeting their performances of Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture, Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto (with Patricia Kopatchinskaja) and Brahms’s 3rd symphony. Critics outdid each other with their superlatives, with Die Welt writing “…it’s hard to imagine a more spectacular debut for the conductor Teodor Currentzis and his orchestra MusicAeterna in Bremen…Johannes Brahms’s third symphony sounded so fiery and impulsive that the concert hall barely held the audience in their seats….the result was extremely tight, powerful, passionate and balance…” while the Hamburger Abendblatt declared a “Triumph for Teodor Currentzis. The praise beforehand wasn’t exaggerated. Teodor Currentzis with his orchestra MusicAeterna is indeed the miracle from Perm.”
