Teodor releases ‘The Rite of Spring’ on Sony Classics
Following on from the critical acclaim garnered by their reinvigorated interpretation of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and Così fan tutte operas as well as their Rameau anthology The Sound of Light, Teodor Currentzis and his orchestra of exceptional musicians – MusicAeterna – will release their interpretation of one of classical music’s most iconic works this Fall: Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du printemps. Sony Classical will release the album worldwide on October 9.

Currentzis debuts in Aix-en-Provence
Teodor Currentzis now turns his attention to the Festival International d’Art Lyrique d’AIx-en-Provence where, on 5th July, he will give the first of five double-bill performances of Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and Stravinsky’s Persephone with the Opéra National de Lyon.

In Lucerne, and in particular on his new recording, Currentzis demonstrated that Rameau is not only flowery music, to be performed delicately. It is also powerful and solid, with meaty basses and edgy violins, but also with the most delicate pianissimo that sound like the breathless promise of love.
