Teodor Currentzis, back in Europe

Teodor Currentzis brought the house down in the glorious surroundings of Vienna’s Konzerthaus when he performed with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra in February.  In a programme of Rachmaninov’s second piano concerto (soloist, Alexander Melnikov) and Prokofiev’s fifth symphony, Teodor demonstrated a palpable pleasure in the music which he communicated to orchestra and audience alike with electrifying exhilaration.
Teodor returns to Europe in March, with his own orchestra, MusicAeterna.  They bring two programmes – one featuring works by Rameau, following their highly-praised Sony recording The Sound of Light, and the other Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet.  Concerts take place in Brussels (14 & 15 March), Athens (17 & 18 March), Helsinki (21 March) and Luzern (25 March).   TC Photo
